Micro-organisms
23 April 2013 |
| We tested best conditions for growing yeast (cold, warm and very hot water). Richard, a local baker, came and demonstrated making dough and amazed us with all the different shapes you can make from it! We made hot cross buns. |

Testing our school for Micro-organisms
22 April 2013 |
| Mrs Pearce told us about working in a science laboratory. The lab provided us with sterile swabs and petri dishes so we could test how clean our school is. The lab kindly grew the bacteria so we could see which bits were most dirty. These pictures show us swabbing our school, the lab testing them for us and the results. Amazing! |

Our cloakroom transformed into a jungle
15 March 2013 |
| Year 4 are learning about India. We have turned our cloakroom into a jungle and created an amazing, huge elephant! He was named ‘Dabbawonder’ and is resplendent in his ceremonial robes. |

|
The Making of Dabbawonder
14 March 2013 |
Our Indian Elephant, Dabbawonder, was an ambitious project encompassing our Indian learning theme.
He started life as a collection of cardboard, chicken wire, newspaper, plaster of Paris, glue and paint. All the children were involved in the planning, construction and decoration. To complete the project we made ceremonial robes using block printing from our own designs.
Dabbawonder now stands glorious and proud in our jungle themed cloakroom area.
